We want Male Chastity to be accessible to everyone, but we recognise that it can feel intimidating, so we’ve created the ultimate guide to chastity play.

What Is Male Chastity?

Male chastity cages are devices designed to enclose the penis and, when locked, prevent the wearer from achieving a full erection, engaging in sexual intercourse, or masturbating.

The use of these devices is almost exclusively within consensual BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, and Masochism) or kink dynamics, where they are often used as a tool for sexual discipline, control, and erotic denial.

Here is a breakdown of their function, anatomy, and psychological use:

1. Anatomy and Function
A typical male chastity cage consists of two main components:

* The Base Ring (or Cock Ring): This is a closed ring that fits snugly around the base of the penis and behind the testicles. The testicles are looped through the ring, and the penis is fed through the centre.

* The Cage (or Tube): This section encloses the flaccid penis. It is attached to the base ring and held in place by a small lock.

* The Lock: A small padlock or security seal secures the cage to the ring, making the device impossible to remove without the key.
Function: The cage is designed to be just large enough to contain the penis while it is in a flaccid (soft) state. If the wearer becomes sexually aroused, the penis attempts to swell and become erect, but the rigid cage physically restricts this growth, making a full erection uncomfortable or impossible.

2. Materials and Types
Cages come in a variety of materials and designs, chosen for comfort, aesthetics, and intended duration of wear.

Types of Cages:

Standard Cage: The most common design, fully enclosing the shaft.

Short/Small Cages: Designed to push the penis back against the body for an extremely snug fit, sometimes referred to as “nub” or “flat” designs.

Full Chastity Belt: A more comprehensive device that includes a waist belt and a separate perineal strap for maximum security against removal.

3. Psychological and Relationship Dynamics
The core use of a chastity cage is rooted in power exchange and orgasm denial within a consensual dynamic. The partner who holds the key is known as the Keyholder (often the Dominant partner).

Relinquishing Control: The act of being locked symbolizes the wearer (often the Submissive partner) surrendering control over their sexual gratification to the Keyholder. This act builds trust and can be highly arousing for both partners.

Anticipation and Denial: The physical restriction of the cage prevents immediate release, forcing the wearer into a state of intense, prolonged sexual frustration or tease and denial. This heightens anticipation, making the eventual sexual release (when the Keyholder permits it) feel much more powerful and rewarding.

Erotic Discipline: The device can be used by the Keyholder as a tool for discipline or as a reminder of the power dynamic within the relationship.

Sexual Focus: For some wearers, the inability to rely on masturbation or self-gratification shifts their focus entirely onto their partner’s pleasure, which they find to be an emotionally and sexually enriching experience.
